Sensing mechanical equipment vibration

I read this article: ANALOG DEVICES’ MEMS WIRELESS VIBRATION SENSING SYSTEM ENABLES REMOTE MONITORING OF INDUSTRIAL MACHINE HEALTH

It specifies the use of Sensor node (ADIS16229) which has a dual-axis, ±18g MEMS accelerometer.  I already have the wireless module along with micro so I am guessing if I can connect a MEMS in the range of 18g, it should be a good start.  Would ±16g be close enough such as ADXL326 or ADXL345?  Since I am not strong on the programming, I would start with the 326 since it is analogue.
