Monitor and restart BF561

Hi, we got a problem when using BF561 for H.264 compression. We need BF561 to work continuously and if it failed we want to restart it automatically. So we use FPGA to monitor the working status of BF 561, actually to monitor the data output of BF 561. If the output data is not correct, FPGA will restart BF561 automatically. BUT, under the current design, FPGA will restart BF561 when we are debugging it. Can anyone tell us, how can we know the working statue of BF561, and distinguish between debugging and failed.
