Hello Hmani,
You are absolutely right! there were some communication problems between me and my collegue because both convinced we were talking about the same chip. Anyway now that is a solved issue. I have proceeded in the developement with the ADE7880 and found some puzzeling results: in the datasheet it is stated that cos-phi is calculated with the following formula: angle * ((linefreq * 360)/256000). IN a 50Hz environment (Italy) the formula results in angle * 0.0703125. In my understanding this should result in the same number carried by registers 0xE902, 0xE903, 0xE904 but it is not the case. In fact if I calculate the cos-phi using the angle extracted in registers 0xE601, 0xE602, 0xE603 everything looks right (consistent sign and value for resistive, capacitive and inductive loads and same sign as resulting power) while reading values from 0xE902.. etc.. results in inconsistent values and signs (almost always negative) in respect to the power reading. Is there a reason for this? Am I missing someting?
Thanks
Mario.
