A parallel port is required to interface to the AD7730 eval board.
We do have newer devices such as the AD7190 or AD7195. Both of these parts are lower noise than the AD7730. The AD7195 includes ac excitation also.
Both devices operate with an output data rate up to 4.8kHz and their eval boards use the USB port.
