I don't know why transfer limit is 0x1FF8u,may be it is some align. But the size of IDMAC DES1 where this value will be written is 13 bits (12:0 for buffer 1 and 25:13 bits for buffer 2). It follows that maximum value is 0x1FFF. To improve the throughout you should increase chain of DMA Desriptors. Hope I have answered on your question.
