Have you set the switch and jumper settings on your BF533 EZ-KIT and USB-LAN EZ-EXTENDER according to the 'readme.txt' file provided with the loopback example? Please check the switch and jumper settings and let me know if you still encounter the same behavior.
If you are still having problems have a look at the Windows Device Manager. Is your USB-LAN EZ-EXTENDER listed under 'ADI Development Tools'? If its not listed but you have an unknown device you can try installing the driver files which are available here:
<USB>\host\windows\drivers
