Thanks for at least looking at the question I had posted, much appreciated you tip on how to post files.I have debugged the issue.
What was the issue? Well, I got my Eval Kit two days ago ADUC7023QSPZ1. The CD in the kit contained the ADUC7XXXGetStartedGuide pdf file. On pg. 7, 8 and partially pg. 9 I followed the instructions to create a New Project. My kit came with the RDI debugger that connects to the JTAG interface. Next, on pg. 11 I began the steps to configure the RDI debugger. This process went well until pg.16. The "Dialog" window image on pg. 16 was the picture I paste into my initial post. The Download Function indicates "Erase Sectors". When I attempted to do subsequent section from pg.16 "Adding Project Files" to pg. 19, all went well, except for when I needed to adjust the potentiometer and observe the ADCDAT and DAC1DAT register contents as well as the Demo Circuit LED glow intensity.
At that stage I checked all the Switch settings on S1 were as expected especially S1.3 and S1.8. I also verified that all the power rails were up for AVDD, IOVDD and Vref. I removed the USB power cable and verify the 10K potentiometer is functional, that is, not burnt out or otherwise damaged. All checked out to be good. I then went back into the ADUC7XXXGetStartedGuide document to verify my steps on RDI Debugger configuration that is when I made the observation on pg. 16 "Dialog" window where the option to "Erase Full Chip" was not selected. Hence my question.
After changing the option to "Erase Full Chip", save the change, rebuild all targets and load into ADUC7023 device via the RDI-JTAG connection between host and Eval board. I was successful to verify the Demo.c code works, that is, illustrating the ADCDAT and DAC1DAT values were the same and the LED, D1, glowed.
